Our History
Our history began in 2006 when Combain Consulting AB received a research assignment from Sony Ericsson to develop positioning algorithms, create a Cell ID database, and drive around southern Sweden’s woods to capture Cell IDs from Swedish mobile network operators in a crowd-sourcing fashion. Since then, we have had a strong passion for location-based services and leveraging mobile positioning to enhance functionality.
In 2009, Combain Mobile AB was established, introducing Location-API.com an innovative mobile positioning cloud service. It quickly secured its first customer in the field of valuable goods tracking. This service has since evolved into the advanced Combain Location API, a clear testament to our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and our dedication to delivering significantly improved performance.
Today, Combain has successfully developed advanced positioning algorithms that provide the highest possible location accuracy and has built one of the world’s largest positioning databases. Combain is actively engaged in positioning research, focusing on global self-learning indoor positioning and navigation in partnership with Lund University.
In 2017, Traxmate started as a project at Combain with a clear mission: to provide customers with a comprehensive indoor positioning and tracking solution. As the project evolved and generated substantial market interest, it was spun out as a separate company. Traxmate AB has since developed the Traxmate services, integrating all of Combain’s advanced positioning technology, as well as other providers, and continues to uphold our dedication to comprehensive solutions.
